Sport for Development





CORIDON aims to promote, advocate and facilitate an improved understanding and practice of sport as tools for development and peace; to reach community, national and international development objectives. CORIDON also uses sport as a tool for addressing community challenges including Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Gender Based Violence and HIV/AIDS. CORIDON also uses community Philanthropy as an approach to understand and resolve issues with a strong personal commitment for a sustainable and positive change.

The International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport, adopted by UNESCO’s 38th General Conference, affirms that ‘equal opportunity to participate and be involved at all supervision and decision-making levels in physical education, physical   activity and sport, whether for purposes of recreation, health promotion or high performance, is the right of every girl and every woman that must be actively enforced’.

CORIDON sport program mainstream the gender dimension by enforcing the right of girls and women to participate in physical education, physical activity and sport at all levels; Protecting participating girls and women from harassment, misconduct and abuse; and use of sport to promote gender equality and empower girls and women;
